I’m in Shanghai. My drive from the airport to downtown is side-by-side with Maglev, China’s impressive high speed train. At the end of the day I picked up Fortune magazine in my hotel room and read the article ‘China’s Amazing New Bullet Train’.

China has spent $50 billion on high speed trains in 2009 alone! Compare that with our $8 billion in the U.S. which will be spent over the next three years. The development of the Interstate Highway paved the way for rapid development of the U.S. economy. China’s investment on their own infrastructure will pave the way for them to become a powerful economy in the 21st Century.
